About Mrs. Robinson

My teaching objectives are based on my training as a primary and secondary level educator, the needs of my students, life experiences, and my own interests in learning.

My objectives include;

  • Sparking my student's curiosity and excitement about learning.
  • Providing students with opportunities to be motivated to look beyond the classroom for discoveries.
  • To create a positive student centered environment in the classroom.
  • Integrate up to date standards into all curriculum areas.
  • Ensure that all disciplines enrich students desire to be lifelong learners.

I believe knowledge is continually growing and being shaped, teaching and learning should be no different. I encourage students to be open, interactive, express their opinions, and promote the development of critical thinking skills.

My formal educational certifications:

  • Yreka Union High School
  • California State University, Chico, CA
    • B.S. Agriculture, Animal Science, Pre-Veterinary
  • Simpson University, Redding, CA
    • Professional Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential K-12
    • Single Subject Authorization in Agriculture

My teaching experience has span from my early training in the 4-H youth program as a junior leader, a certified swimming and water safety instructor in high school and college. While in college I taught animal science labs at the University Farm. I spent a semester traveling to Denmark, Germany, and Sweden studying livestock practices and presented those studies as a guest college lecturer upon my return. I invested 20 years as a youth soccer coach to several champion teams, along with obtaining my state level soccer referee instructor certification.

I have local family roots dating back to the California Gold Rush in Siskiyou County. I was born in Yreka and spent my childhood in Yreka and Montague. My grandmother was a second grade teacher at Montague Elementary and one of the first Reading Resource Specialist in the State of California.

My husband, Mark and I have been married for 36 years and raised our two sons here in the Montague area. They both attended Montague Elementary and went on to be successful university students. Our oldest son, Dane, is a Safety Instructor for the Union Pacific Railroad in the Denver, Colorado area, and the father of our two granddaughters. Our youngest son, Taylor, is a computer systems programmer and technology analysis.

When I am not at school, you can find me at our farm working with our flock of Suffolk and Natural Colored Corriedale sheep or in the garden enjoying the great outdoors.
