4th/5th Grade: Jennifer Marks

About Mrs. Marks

As your 4th and 5th grade teacher, I would first like you to know that I am looking forward to working with the Montague Elementary School team and, even better, working right here in my home town. I have been a resident of Montague since 1994 where my husband and I have raised three children. I worked as a daycare provider in Montague for fourteen years and worked in my children’s school for the better part of fourteen years as an aide, After School Site Coordinator, and volunteer. After all that, I found that I still love children and still had a passion to continue to teach them. So I went back to school and obtained a teaching credential. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Organizational Leadership and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I gained most of my teaching experience by working for four years, as an aide, with students in the 2nd through 5th grades at a small school. Other experiences include student teaching in the 2nd and 4th grades and by various long term substitute teaching jobs. In the 2013/14 school year, I expanded my experiences by teaching in a small school, grades 5, 6, 7, and 8, all subjects. I am a friendly person by nature; I have a good rapport with students; and I have outstanding classroom management skills. My goal for your child is to help him or her build character, trust, and the academic skills necessary to grow into productive citizens. I am very excited for this next endeavor working at Montague Elementary as well as working in this town I call home.
